They will have the opportunity to “work with renowned voice faculty and audition for opera executives from major companies including the Canadian Opera Company, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Dallas Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Seattle Opera and Washington National Opera.” 11 & 18, 2019, in addition to taking part in Santa Fe Opera’s mainstage productions. Members were selected from a pool of over a thousand applicants by Program Director Gayletha Nichols and Head of Music Staff Robert Tweten.Īccording to the press release, the program is meant to provide “ training, performance opportunities and international exposure to young singers in transition from academic to professional life,” and has produced alumni who have gone on to have distinguished careers in opera, including Joyce DiDonato, Michael Fabiano, Brandon Jovanovich, and Susanna Phillips.
